CONTROL UNLEASHED COMING SOON
These classes were developed by Leslie McDevitt, a Certified Dog Behaviour Consultant. They are designed to help dogs with issues learn how to relax, focus, and work off leash reliably in either stimulating or stressful situations. Originally created to help dogs training in dog sports, these classes have become invaluable to all owners whether their pet is enrolled in a dog sport or not. A variety of obedience cues and games are used in these classes to help dogs that...
-
Are uncomfortable or unable to work off leash around other dogs.
-
Are easily distracted and have difficulty concentrating.
-
Are reactive or easily aroused.
-
Are anxious or stressed and shut down.
-
Are unable to control their impulses when excited.
CLICKER TRAINING COMING SOON
Your dog will learn all obedience cues using a special reward marker; the clicker. Classes are fun and challenging. Basic obedience cues will be taught as well as some fun tricks such as roll over, shake a paw, and some targeting work.
JUST PUPPIES – 10 to 16 Weeks
GENERAL INFORMATION AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT
When attending classes, please bring the following:
-
A six foot long leash (thickness should correspond to the size of the dog). Retractable leashes are not recommended for training.
-
A flat buckle collar, Martingale collar or harness properly fitted for the individual dog. “No Pull” head collars or harnesses are also acceptable. Absolutely NO CHOKE OR PINCH/PRONG COLLARS are permitted.
-
Pea-sized treats or treats that can be broken down into pea-sized pieces. It is suggested you bring a treat training pouch or something to house the treats while you are training. Make sure your dog has a good appetite for class. In fact, you could delay his supper to class time instead, and feed him his kibble or treats as his supper while he is training.
-
All dogs should have identification.
-
Proper shoes prevent injury. No open-toed shoes or sandals.
-
Please bring waste disposal bags to clean up after your dog if he eliminates during class. We will have a mop and bucket handy if your dog happens to “piddle” during class.
-
Families are always welcome but please ensure your children are supervised at all times.
